Privacy and your data
Who sees what, and when.
Your workspace is yours. Here's who can see what.
Private by default
Nothing in your workspace is public. The only way someone else sees your work is if you make a share link, and share links are read-only. You can turn them off any time.
Your connected AI
An outside AI like Claude, ChatGPT or Grok only reads your workspace once you've connected it, and only through the Memospace connection. What it reads is then handled by Anthropic, OpenAI or xAI, under your account with them, not ours.
Changes your AI makes are labelled with its name, and you're told about them. A card it removes can be put back from Settings > Recently deleted, and a change to a document can be undone from the document's History. It can't delete documents or boards, or share anything. For the full picture, see Undo and History.
The built-in assistant
The assistant inside Memospace uses outside AI providers to do its work. So the text you send it, and any voice or audio you record, is processed by those providers.
Bring your own key
If you'd rather use your own account, you can add a key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, OpenRouter, or any OpenAI-compatible service. Keys are sealed before they're stored. With your own key, the work runs on your account and doesn't use your Memospace credits. The one exception is turning speech into text, which always uses our provider and always uses credits.
What the assistant remembers
Open your account menu and choose What it remembers to see everything the assistant keeps. You can delete anything you don't want it to remember, and that won't touch any of your own work.
Deleted and archived items
Deleted cards, archived boards and archived documents don't show up in search, and your AI can't read them.
Taking your data with you
You can download your whole workspace, or close your account, any time. See Exporting your data and deleting your account.
