Boards and cards

Putting things on a canvas, moving them, and getting one back.

A board is an open canvas. You put cards anywhere you like on it, then move them, resize them, connect them with lines, or stack them into columns.

Kinds of cards

A card can be a note, an image, a link, a to-do, a heading, a document, a table, a column (a stack of cards) or another board.

Cards can also hold richer things, like audio, video, a voice memo, a quote, an embed, a code snippet, a location, a countdown, a calendar, a table, a GIF or sticker, a product, or an API key.

Boards inside boards

A board can sit inside another board as a tile. Open the tile and you're in that board. It's a handy way to keep a big project tidy.

Adding files

Drag files onto a board, paste them, or use the file button. Photos from an iPhone (HEIC) are converted in your browser, so they show up anywhere.

There are size limits. Audio and video can be up to 50 MB, and everything else up to 20 MB. If one file in a drop is too big, none of them upload, so drop the big one on its own.

Your plan also comes with storage: 1 GB on Free, 20 GB on Pro and 100 GB on Pro Plus. Once you've used it all, new uploads stop, but nothing you've already uploaded is touched. You can see how much you've used in Settings, under Account.

Duplicating a board

When you duplicate a board, you get a real copy. That includes every board inside it, all its cards, their documents and the lines between them. Tiles in the copy open the copies, so you can edit or delete in one without touching the other. Pictures are shared between the two rather than copied.

Deleting a card

Deleted a card by mistake? Press Undo (or Cmd+Z / Ctrl+Z) straight away. Later, it still isn't gone: open Settings, choose Recently deleted, and press Put back. The list shows what kind of card it was and how long ago it went, from every board, so you don't need to remember where it was.

How many boards you can have

The Free plan includes 10 boards, and boards inside boards count. Archived boards don't count, so archiving one frees up a spot. Pro and Pro Plus have unlimited boards.
